Welcome to Learning Fiddle with Irish Music (LFIM), a comprehensive series of resources designed to guide students from beginner to advanced levels through the study of Irish songs and melodies. This approach is built around three progressive core collections of tunes, along with a supplemental repertoire book, all thoughtfully curated and developed specifically for Irish fiddle instruction.

Each book is supported by accompanying recordings, encouraging the development of learning by ear—an essential skill and a cornerstone of the Irish musical tradition. The three core books are structured with a clear pedagogical focus: the first book emphasizes ear training through song, the second develops foundational technical skills through accessible tunes, and the third focuses on rhythmic fluency through bowing patterns as students begin to shape tunes into sets.

Throughout the series, new skills are introduced in a sequential and intentional way, providing both forward progression and opportunities for refinement. Together, these materials support students in building confidence, musicality, and a strong technical foundation, while offering a thoughtful pathway for continued growth in Irish music.

I hope you find these resources both useful and rewarding as you begin or continue your musical journey.
